A Lasting Memory
He's sitting alone in his garden today
thinking back over his long and happy life
he cannot believe how fast years rolled by
since that long ago day he married his wife.
He remembers his wife's joy watching him
tend his garden and watching the plants grow
when she found a small tomato or cucumber
she made sure he would be the first to know.
Passing time brought many changes with it
recently his wife was called to her eternal home
he missing her so much, but when in his garden
he feels her presence and knows he's not alone.
When he finds a small tomato or cucumber
he remembers her running to tell him about it
this happy thought is why he's smiling today
because it's a memory he will never forget.
