When she was a young girl in her teens
she dreamed of moving out on her own
days and nights it was on her mind
today she's missing her childhood home.
She had no idea how complicated life is
how expensive living alone would be
her salary barely meets her obligations
so many problems she didn't foresee.
Mom and Dad understand her situation
she knows for help she only has to ask
but her pride won't let her ask for help
when they visit she dons a happy mask.
Happiness is something you have to earn
like a little bird flying for the first time
determined to venture out on his own
these thoughts tell her she'll be fine.
