Today I ran into an old friend
I hadn't seen in a long time
Sadly, I noticed his once dark hair
Was even whiter than mine.
His friendly smile and laugh
Regretfully, are both gone now
On his once smooth face
I saw wrinkles above his brow.
After a friendly chat we shook hands
And walked on our different ways
I wondered what changes he saw in me
From my long ago youthful days?
Passing time changes many things
Some we'd rather not know about
like wrinkles on an old friends face
those changes we'd like to block out.
