Time Marches On
Sitting on my porch watching the rain
Observing a squirrel doing the same thing
Recalling good days, some bad ones too
My best one was the day I married you.
I learned what happiness is on that day
Marrying you explained it to me that way
Our years together are passing too fast
I appreciate each one more than the last.
I cannot believe our children are grown
Difficult accepting how fast time moved on
I'm thankful our children love us like they do
That each of them is loving just like you.
Watching the rain has helped me understand
Things have been changing since time began
Maybe that's the way God intended it to be
I thank Him each day for the life he gave me.
Time marches on...
