And I Will

It's impossible to change my past
If I could I would correct mistakes
In more ways than I can name
These thoughts torment my brain.

'If' is only a two lettered word
That keeps popping into my mind
Before thoughts what could have been
Thoughts now vanished in the wind.

Changing my past I cannot possibly do
Or reach up and touch a cloudy sky
But I can strive to improve myself
From today until the day I die.

Daily the sun sets in a western sky
Taking with it another day from our lives
Each morning sunrise gives us a new day
To correct mistakes we made yesterday.

And I will...
