A Mountain Trail
Leads Up And Down

For some it is only a drink or two
But for others the thirst increases each day
Until all of their sensibility is gone
Alcohol has taken their respect away.

It's difficult ascending mountains
Much easier climbing back down
More intricate breaking free of bonds
Alcohol addiction has tightly bound.

Firm determination can reap victories
If desires are genuine and sincere
Self respect once again can be regained
And most of all self respect will reappear.

A mountain trail leads up and down.
