These Are My Thoughts
For Today

Each time I hear church bells ringing
My mind drifts back to when I was a boy
On Sunday mornings when church bells rang
Grandma's face gleamed with pride and joy.

When grandpa yelled, "The buggy is ready"
Grandma would grab my hand and run out the door
Sometimes grandpa would let me hold the reins
When he did I felt like I was a full grown man
Days like those I will never see anymore.

In today's world we travel at a faster pace
Many ways this is good, while other's it is sad
Riding in a buggy you saw things along the way
Drives in fast cars you wouldn't have time to see
I miss the slow pace of life  back when I was a lad.

These are my thoughts for today....
