You Can Be Happy
Even When You Are Sad

My childhood home is still standing
But showing its' age the same as me
Cherished memories this old home holds
Only in mind I am still able to see.

Papa coming home with a box under his arm
My impatience waiting to see what he had
Mama smiling and saying, 'Let's wait and see'
When I saw it was a puppy, Boy! Was I glad.

Mama and Papa together sitting in our swing
Both of them laughing like people in love do
Cherished memories this old home holds
Makes me happy even if I am feeling blue.

You can be happy even when you are sad....
