My Wisdom Began
To Grow

At one time in my life
I thought miracles were fantasies
Until passing years brought changes
One of them was
My wisdom began to grow.

As I sit here writing this poem
I smile realizing
On mornings or evenings
I used to stand admiring
A sunset or sunrise
I was observing miracles
Sadly at the time
I lacked the wisdom to know.

During my lifetime
The miracles I cherish most
Were watching the births
Of our little girl and boy
They were the ultimate gifts
To my wife and I.
God could bestow.
