Somewhere Down

The Path

Remembering the anguish

Of our last night together

Makes me believe

Love and hate

Are separated by a thread

I'm also beginning to believe

Love and lust are almost

The same.

Both of us thought

The love we had

For each other was a

Forever lasting thing

Until we realized

It was only lust with no

Love involved at all.

Since our infatuations

Cooled we're feeling anger

In our hearts because we were

Fooled by our strong desires

Thinking we were in love.

Hopefully our terrible

Mistakes might prevent us

From making future mistakes

Somewhere down the path

Of our earthly lives

Traveling different roads.
