Church Bells Are

Ringing

Dad and I are alone now

Mom had to go far away

Where my Mom went

I can't get Dad to say.

Dad's holding my hand

As we walk to church alone

This is our first time going

Since Mom has been gone.

Dad is looking down at me

His eyes look so sad

If only Mom was with us

I would be so glad.

Church bells are ringing

On Dad's face is a smile

The first one I've seen there

In quite a long while.

Maybe sometime soon

Dad will decide to tell me

About where my Mom went

I'll wait and see.
